DUSA JESIH · (NO) DIALOGUE
Dusa Jesih was born on 1977 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she currently lives and works. (No) Dialogue is Dusa Jesih's first solo exhibition in Spain. Through basic elements of composition she reaches for the balance between space and time, the ecstatic and dinamic, the limited and limitless. This particular search is a key element of all of her works, as she studies the combination of geometric and morphologie, as well as the various chromatic factors. Jesih divides the surface into a lineal contruction, aiming towards a non-simmetrical segment. This process turns her work into massive geometric imaginery with an interactive aspect as a conversation between the artist and the audience. The geometic figures simbolize the eternity and, therefore, the imaginative and visual space opens-up and expands.
In 1996 she finished at the High School of Art, Design and Photography in Ljubljana, and in 2003 graduated from Fine Arts on Art House - College for Visual Art, Ljubljana. In 2006 she obtained her post graduate degree in painting. She is engaged in painting and printmaking which caught in some kind of conceptually levels lead up to multimedia. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, colonies, residence programs and projects at home and abroad. Since 2004 she is a member of the Community Association of Slovenian artists ZDSLU. Since 2006 she is a mentor of art classes at the Slovenian University. In 2012 she entered her MA studies on ALUO -Academy of Fine Arts and Design, in Ljubljana. In 2015 she was awarded with the Presern Award - highest national cultural student award in Slovenia.
